Everything changes for Aubree when she loses her best friend and familiar, Bramble. Life feels more precious: even the smallest creature—a mouse or a newt—now impossible to sacrifice for a potion. But her fellow witches don’t understand and with only days until the market, they can’t wait any longer for their ingredients. Unable to bear any more death, and feeling alone in her coven, Aubree sets off to find someone who might understand her.
